I want to share my horrible experience with my stay in this so-called 5-star hotel. The story is from the beginning when doing the check-in. It takes almost 20 minutes for the whole check-in process. The time is not for waiting for their process. I didn't know what was going wrong at their back; I just waited anyway. After check-in, I got the room and checked the basic facilities before going out. Surprisingly, the safe and Wifi doesn't work. It takes another half hour to fix it. Then, it was all fixed, and I went to the supermarket downstairs to buy some stuff. The most horrible thing is that my room key card doesn't work when returning to the room. It takes another time to fix it again. At that moment, I already felt that this room was not ready. I feel like a guinea pig to try and error for their room. Okay, it was around 8 PM after it was fixed. I went out for dinner, and I found someone accessing my room even though I turned my don't disturb light on. I went downstairs and reported the situation. My wife and I remember the DND light is on when going out. It makes us scared when we go back to the room. They said the DND was not on, so someone was going inside to do housekeeping. I don't know the problem with my room's door or security system. But the point is, why do housekeeping for the room check-in? Then, my wife also found out that the bed in the room used two single beds and merged it into one single king-size bed. There are obvious gaps in the middle. But it was mentioned in my booking that it's a single king-size bed and even in their room-type photos. Lastly, I figure out the real manager to talk with. Why am I saying it's real? Finding out when you want to escalate in this hotel is hard. Everyone says they are the manager. But as a matter of fact, they are not until I keep asking and escalating. I talked with the night shift duty manager (should be real). He said he understood my situation and frustration and would try to arrange a room change for me the next day as they were under full booking. He said he would hand it over to the next shift's duty manager and arrange it. I ask him to call me back at 11 AM next week to let me know the arrangement situation. But I wait until 11:30 AM, and no one is calling to my room. I tried to contact the duty manager (luckily, I got the name last night). He said that no one informed him to contact me. From their system record, mark down the request for a room by changing a simple description. As per the horrible journey mentioned above, it took me almost 3 hours to communicate with them back and forth. They also say everything will be logged into the system. But as a matter of fact, it's nothing. Am I talking with the air, or shall they use robots for more reliable service? I don't know what I don't know now. Now, the duty manager said it's still under the check-out period and that it would arrange a room change according to my request. I am looking forward to an update on this post. The duty manager keeps saying that they are five 5-star hotels. He is right; the facilities and the name are five stars, including the prices. But the services and experience are three stars or lower. Last but not least, regarding their concierge, I tried to ask them to help me book the restaurant by giving me the restaurant's name and contact. They wanted to help me by calling, but in vain. Then, they told me that you usually don't need to book a restaurant in Frankfurt. But walk in, and you should always quickly get a table. I trust them because this is my first time in this city. Then, I went to that restaurant, and it told me there was a whole house and there was no way to get a table if I didn't have a booking. I swear that I am talking with them politely and gentlemanly. But why is this five-star hotel always perfunctory to their guest?

After pre-authorising amounts in excess of the quoted and booked rate, the front desk management at JW Marriott Frankfurt failed dismally to demonstrate any measure of customer service. As Elite Bonvoy members, we regularly stay at JW and other Marriott properties, and understand that errors can happen. But the most able teams in other Marriott hotels find ways of easing any further inconvenience. Given the charging error in question, we expected JW Marriott Frankfurt to at least waive the deposit when extending our stay by a day or identify any other gesture, but they felt unable to do so. JW Marriott properties in at least 10 other countries and locations were able to extend such gestures with absolute ease, despite not having any charging errors to correct. More broadly, the absence of an executive lounge at a 5* Marriott property is simply not good enough. The hotel explained that renovations were still underway and a lounge would be operational later in the year. But most Titanium and Platinum elite members can point to much smaller properties who take the initiative to cordon off sections of their restaurant/bar areas for a few hours each evening, so that an 'interim' club lounge service is offered to qualifying members. Management at this property simply needs to do better. However, the room was clean.

I stayed here with my family for 2 nights on my visit to Frankfort. Check in was a pleasant experience completed with a glass of champagne. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was clean and quiet with a great view of the city. The sofa bed was already made up at check in which was a nice touch. My daughter ran in the gym every day and it was much larger than then most. I spend around 150 nights a year in different hotels and I would definitely recommend this one.

We spent a weekend at the JW Marriot. It’s very central, so it was easy to get around. We were welcomed by a friendly staff and were offered champagne. We chose orange juice. We liked our room. It was modern, comfortable and spacious. The bed was comfortable as well. The view from the room was lovely. The breakfast selection was great and delicious. Especially the variety of eggs. We also used the valet service and everyone was helpful and friendly. I do agree that the lobby is kinda “small”. But it wasn’t a big issue at all. We did enjoy the room a lot. We will come back.

Frankfurt is by far my favorite city, one of the main reasons is this hotel. The location is fantastic and the rooms are spacious. That is why I chose it to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. It saddens me to write this part of the review. The reservation went smoothly. In the application I requested things such as the type of pillows I would like to have. I also asked for extra towels and other stuff. They assured me that it would be ready for me in my room before arrival. When we first arrived, the concierge, Mr. David came out personally to greet us knowing who we were. The check-in was super fast and Mr. Mostafa was so courteous. When we entered the room we saw a handwritten welcome note with a delicious chocolate dessert, we were so touched. However, we noticed that none of the things we asked for were prepared in advance. Furthermore, the ac in the bedroom did not work. We had to spend two hours sorting things out with staff coming inside and out of the room. I guess the Silver lining was Mr. Mostafa who was at the end of his shift and refused to leave until all our issues were settled. J W Marriot is lucky to have him. He was not the only one who stood out. The entire staff team was also so professionnel but also warm. When we tried the breakfast they made us feel at home and everyone was smiling. Not to mention, the options were limitless. The maintenance problem continued hunting us, the bath tub had a leakage problem, the light came on and off on its own in the middle of the night and the frame of one of the spotlights was out of place. The Radio stations on the tv were not working, and tune in radio was not supported by cast chrome. There seems to be a maintenance/ quality control problem. But the staff was always smiling and kind like Miss Julia and Mr. Thomas from the reception, Mr. Jurg and Mr. Mohammed from maintenance and Mr. Paul from housekeeping and Mr. Timo from concierge, to name a few. They said that they are going through a huge renovation, maybe that's why we faced such issues, but that is no excuse. Again, the staff team was the one consistent positive in our stay. I would come again hoping for improvements.
